Psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy
We know intuitively that when we suffer, it is good to talk about it.
I practice psychotherapy informed and influenced by psychoanalysis. This is the modality invented by Sigmund Freud and reinterpreted by Jacques Lacan.
I work with individuals and couples.
For who?
Psychotherapy is helpful when dealing with problems with relationships, sex, and identity, recovering from trauma or loss, struggling with mental health issues, anger, emptiness, problematic behaviours, failure and self-sabotage, or when overwhelmed by existential concerns.
Couples psychotherapy can be helpful when dealing with repeated conflict, communication problems, difficulty with or lack of sex, intimacy and trust, infidelity, and problematic alcohol or pornography use.
Professional supervision is available for community sector workers, particularly those working with clients with complex mental health issues. Further information.
Treatment is available in person in Carlton, Victoria, or by phone.
About me
I have eight years experience in the mental health field, and currently hold a senior role in the community sector. I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association, (ACA) and Australian Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (ARCAP), and hold a degree in counselling and psychotherapy. I pursue ongoing, long term studies at the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis. My practice is guided by personal analysis as well as professional supervision.
